Most IT Providers Get This Wrong

The NetDocuments batch file contains two types of registry entries: HKLM and HKCU. After 550+ installs, we still see IT teams push both out the same way — and that’s where things break.

HKLM keys? No problem. Push them out as an administrator and you’re done.

HKCU keys are different. They’re user-specific, which means they must be applied while logged in as that user. Running them as an admin won’t work — the keys land in the wrong place and ndOffice misbehaves.

The fix is straightforward: place the HKCU batch file in a login script. When each user logs in, the keys apply correctly and automatically.

Watch this video to determine if the batch file got installed correctly.

Step 1:  Install ndOffice

Step 2: Restart the Machine

Step 3: Click on ndOffice in the System Tray

Step 4: Click on the Gear

Step 5 : Click on Settings

If you don’t see 14 and 5, this was not done correctly.
