Stay in the Loop with NetDocuments CollabSpaces: The Power of the Follow Feature

Posted in NetDocuments CollabSpaces, NetDocuments Tips on September 12, 2025 by Jeff Ong

Collaboration works best when everyone stays informed. In NetDocuments, CollabSpaces provide a secure way to share documents and workspaces with clients, partners, or external teams. But with so many projects in motion, it’s easy to miss when something new appears.

That’s where the Follow feature helps.

  • If you follow the root CollabSpace, you’ll be notified whenever someone creates a new folder or uploads a document at the top level.

  • If you follow a specific folder inside the CollabSpace, you’ll be notified whenever someone creates a folder or uploads documents within that folder.

This ensures you stay updated in the right place — whether you want to track everything at the top level or just activity in a folder that matters most to you.

Follow a CollabSpace

Step 1. Go to the CollabSpace you want to monitor.

Step 2. From the CollabSpace dropdown menu, select Follow.

Step 3. Add the email address where you want to receive notifications.

Step 4. Click Ok.

You should receive a notification whenever someone uploads a file or creates a folder in the Collabspace root folder.
