How to use the Desktop Scanner Connector in NetDocuments

There are really 3 different types of scanners,  twain compatible,  non-twain compatible, and the big multifunction copier/scanners.  This article goes over how to scan with a Twain Compatible Desktop Scanners.  We are making the assumption that the scanner is already connector to your computer.  NetDocuments will find it, once we install the Desktop Scanner Connector.

Step 1: In NetDocuments go to New –> Scanned Image

This will automatically install the Desktop Scanner Connector if you don’t already have it installed.

Step 2: Click Scan now

Put the documents in the scanner and click Scan Now….

That is pretty straightforward.  NetDocuments also allows you to print cover pages out first, place those on top of a group of documents and have them profiled into NetDocuments.  This is great if you have 5 different groups of documents that need to be added to NetDocuments and you want to scan them all at once.  You would create 5 cover pages, and place them over the group of documents, and scan everything all together.

Follow this step for the other four groups of documents and then take the entire stack and scan them in using the New –> Scanned Image
