When Attempting to Email a Document Out of NetDocuments You Get the Message: A Selected Document Resides in a Cabinet Which Emails Must Be Sent via an Email Client, but You Do Not Have a Plugin That Can Relay the Document to an Email Client

When attempting to email a document from NetDocuments, you receive the message: “A selected document resides in a cabinet that emails must be sent via an email client, but you do not have a plugin that can relay the document to an email client.”

Step 1:  Recent updates to Chrome and Edge have stopped NetDocuments from working

When using Google Chrome version 142 and above or Microsoft Edge version 143 and above, users may experience one of the following issues:

This issue was caused by a change introduced in Google Chrome 142 and Microsoft Edge 143. These releases require that Local Network Access be enabled manually or via an administrative policy. In previous versions, this setting was enabled by default. As a result of this new setting, ndClick may fail to bind to a local port required for operation.

Step 2: Turn on Desktop Email Integration. It is not turned on.

  • HI –> Firm Name
  • Settings
  • Application Settings
  • Check the box next to Turn on Desktop Email Integration

Step 3:  ndOffice is not installed

You’re on a PC that doesn’t have ndOffice installed

You need ndOffice installed for this to work.

Step 4: You’re not logged in to ndOffice, or your account is incorrect

Log out of ndOffice and log back in.

Step 5:  You are using Firefox
