The Secret to using NetDocuments with Adobe Acrobat

When viewing a PDF in an online document management software like NetDocuments, it is much faster to view the PDF in the browser, than to download the document and open it.  I am going to make the assumption that 90% of the time, you are just reading PDF’s and not editing them.  If you spend most of your time marking up PDF’s, you will want to ignore these settings.  The goal here is to allow you to quickly see a 50mb PDF without having to download it.

NetDocuments Settings

In NetDocuments go to Settings –> Application Settings

Make sure you have PDF Viewing Checked

Adobe Settings

Edit –> Preferences –> Internet

Make sure Display PDF in Browser is Checked

Now,  when you click on a PDF in NetDocuments, it will automatically open in the browser and allow you to view it.
