Force pdfs documents to open in the native app and not the web browser

Options –> General –> Applications

about:preferences

Settings -> Advanced -> Content Settings -> PDF documents

Internet Explorer

Settings –> Internet Options

Click the Programs Tab –> Manage Add-ons.

Change Show to All add-ons and disable your PDF Reader.
