Why am I missing a Doc Type Filter in NetDocuments

Posted in NetDocuments Tech Support Issues, NetDocuments Tips on March 28, 2022 by Craig Bayer

NetDocuments Workspaces can only automatically generate 21 Doc Type Filters at creation.

A firm is coming from Worldox to NetDocuments.  On the Smith Matter, there are 25 different doctypes.

All the documents get migrated to NetDocuments and the Workspace is created.

When you go to Summary view, you only see 21 Doc Type Filters:

Four will be left off.  The minute you save a document to one of those filters, the filter will get created:

This issue only occurs when someone does a document conversion.  On new matters that are created organically, it never happens because the workspace is created first, and then documents are added.

In this rare instance, the solution is to save a new document to one of those filters.
